Protests are taking place all across the United States in opposition to sweeping National Security Agency surveillance programs. Rallies and marches took place in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, New York City, Washington DC and dozens of other US cities on Thursday.
One person donned a Guy Fawkes mask, reminiscent of the Occupy movement, and another covered his face with a black bandana, the crowd consisted of a diverse mix of young and old from throughout the Bay Area, including a number of lawyers and tech workers sporting close-cropped hair, button-down shirts, and glasses. It was infused with an element of internet culture. One person held a sign featuring an Internet meme, and at one point, the crowd chanted in unison, "Get your mitts off my bits!"
Events are being organized by a newly hatched organization called Restore the Fourth, named after the constitutionally guaranteed protection against illegal search and seizure under the Fourth Amendment. Restore the Fourth stemmed from concern over excessive governmental power implied by the spying programs.
Will this save the People from illegal searches and seizures by the cops? Undoubtedly not!
Once the cops "legally" pilfer everything you got and the state and federal judges allow it, you are a goner abandoned waiting to die! It's too late now. You waited too long while it's been happening for years. And, now your energy spent will be all in vain. Law enforcement now will laugh at you and look at you as a bunch of monkeys. The American State Bars will spit in your face and State and Federal Judges will demand that you pay their costs.
While everyone has been involved with wetting their weenies, i.e., same-sex marriages, equality, Prop8...the government has been busy "legally" pilfering our belongings.
And, Senator Dianne Feinstein, who chairs the Senate intelligence committee and had knowledge of the NSA spying activities before they were revealed to the general public did nothing to stop it.
Finally, we are waking up and now we are wondering why.
