Russia granted Mr. Snowden temporary asylum, which lasts for one year but is renewable. It allows him to live, work and travel in Russia and seek citizenship if he stays in the country for half a decade.
U.S. lawmakers across the spectrum heaped scorn on Moscow, branding the move as a slap in the face.
Mr. Snowden has already leaked highly classified information about U.S. eavesdropping on foreign government officials and if they don't like it, they should have hired someone more deviant and corrupt so that those who have conscience don't have to have that weight on their shoulders.
Over the past eight weeks we have seen the Obama administration show no respect for international or domestic law. What else is new? Maybe the Russian Federation can teach the U.S. a few lessons in accordance with its laws and international obligations.
U.S. Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) called Russia's latest move "a disgrace and a deliberate effort to embarrass the United States." He added, in a statement, that the U.S. should step up advocacy of human rights and civil liberties in Russia in reference to their ban on adopting children because we can no longer get away with torturing and murdering them.
This mistrust led to a low in U.S.-Russian relations, as the U.S. late last year passed sanctions against alleged Russian human-rights abusers and Russia countered with a ban on adoptions by U.S. families.
The White House is evaluating more punitive actions that the U.S. could take to underline its displeasure with Moscow's decision in the Snowden case. This would be to make sure Snowden leaks ALL he knows in his 30 years of NSA employment with additional and potentially more damaging information about how the U.S. penetrates foreign government computers, which Russia and other governments could use to circumvent U.S. surveillance measures.
Now, go home and take it out on your wives, you petty minded filth! While I deal with your Christian bigot ambush limiting me to ANY enjoyment of my horses (the last bit of my property being illegally seized) Yep, I pay for feed, do all the physical labor upkeep such as fence building, hoof trimming to avoid full fledged foundering... Does my labor amount to anything? Nope, because I am a woman. Therefore, I am a whore claims U.S. officials and their deputized minions!
Thanx again, Russia, for monitoring my civil and human right abuses for all these years. Sadly, no need to review my site at http://judiciary.zoomshare.com as U.S. officials had it deleted so no one else would see the evidence of what the U.S. has done to me. I for one know we are not pulling the wool over your eyes.
